Holm (Islet)
Holm, the largest islet around Ruhnu, is located 0.1 km from the coast to the west of the island. The islet is about 0.8 ha in size and its perimeter is 2.3 km. There are 2 capes and many erratics on west coast of Holm. The area west of the islet, between Ruhnu and Holm, is sandy. The coastline (especially on the side facing the sea) is jagged; the islet is covered by grassland. At low tide, the sandy sea bottom is uncovered and the islet becomes a peninsula.
Holm used to be used for sheep-herding, now it serves a pasture for cattle.
