Ruhnu Yacht club is established in 2009 and operates on Ruhnu island. It is established as a joint effort of Ruhnu people and friends. The purpose of the club is to develop sailing, sea culture and people´s friendship on the Gulf of Liivi, around the Ruhnu island and to be a partner in the development of harbour to the owner of the Ringsu harbour. Since 2011, Ruhnu Yacht Club organizes Ruhnu regatta as the main event of the year which is a part of the Estonian Open Sea Sailing Cup. The long-term goal is to develop an adequate infrastructure in the Ringsu harbour and on the Ruhnu island so that Ruhnu could turn out to be a training spot for young sportsmen from the whole Baltic Sea region, be a valued stopping place for hobby sailors and where the international standards meeting regattas could take place.
